USB Technology Implementation

The Australian Microelectronics Centre in conjunction with In-Circuit Design Pty Ltd is presenting a series of free Lunch and Learn Seminars on the Fundamentals of High Speed PCB Design in Brisbane this year. The next seminar will focus on USB Technology:

The High Speed Universal Serial Bus (USB) 2.0, is today's universal standard for attaching a wide range of peripheral devices to PCs and laptops. Typical USB implementations, however, can push the limits of the specification.

The goal of this seminar is to proactively eliminate signal transmission problems, frequently encountered when implementing high speed designs, earlier in the process. This Seminar will help you make design tradeoffs such as impedance matching across the interconnect path, meeting flight-time requirements, and signal degradation through long paths, in order to design your USB link.

The Seminar presents an overview of USB technology and a design example that includes a pre-configured topology with USB and ribbon cables, based on mechanical specifications that are commonly found in today's systems.
