Overview

“Right First Time Design”– two-day design workshop

This two-day workshop on Advanced Design for SMT presents a detailed look at proven generic design rules for dense, double-sided SMT design of multilayer PCBs. The presenter has extensive experience with numerous CAD systems and the course material is non-application specific.

This course identifies the problems associated with leading-edge design and interactively presents a systematic approach for solving design problems. Topics to be discussed include:

  1. Generic SMT Design Rules
  2. Designing for Manufacturability
  3. EMI & High Speed Design

This workshop is most suited to design personnel who are designing surface-mount boards with more than four layers at high clock speeds/rise times, but the principles can be applied to less complex assemblies of mixed technology.
